Wood Floors

Today the wood flooring was put in the front hall, kitchen, dining room, mud room, guest bathroom, master bathroom, and laundry room. We went with the 3" and 4" hickory. They will leave this unfinished until all of the other finish work is complete, and then they'll come back to sand it, stain it, and protect it.
Kristin revised many of the wall colors today, going with a slightly more toned-down version of the original color ideas.
The siding is still slowly going up.

Painted

All of the rooms except the living room were painted today. The kitchen/dining is "Lantern light", which we thought was a bit too lemony. We're going to tone it down a little toward the tan side. The laundry room / mud room / back hall is "Harvester", which we really like. The 3rd picture is the master bedroom in "Honeydew". It was a little too much green, so we're going to tone that one down with the second coat as well. The baby's room which is "buoyant blue" turned out great. The other rooms are in more neutral colors, and looked good. The purple idea in the front hall and living room is probably not going to make the cut, although we gave it a shot.
The heating/air conditioning duct work was finished today and hooked up to the heater. The control pad was put in and the system was running this evening during our visit.
A little more of the siding was put up today, but nothing picture-worthy... it's going up pretty slowly. All of the trim/casings/baseboards were dropped off today as well. The subflooring is now done in all of the carpeted areas.

Tuesday

The ceilings were painted today (shades of white - nothing too exciting). They started putting down an additional sub-floor in the 1st floor carpeted areas so that there is a better height-match between the carpet and the wood flooring. The guy working on the exterior is slow and steady, the soffit and trim in the back of the garage must have taken all day today.
