The Real Start of the Housing Mortgage Crisis?

An interesting article written in the NY Times in 1999 -the link is included here. It's almost as if someone wrote this article this week... It's so hard to keep your head from spinning in these times. But I think when you break it down in it's simplest terms some light comes shining through on how this disaster all got started. Good intentions but totally irresponsible, impractical, and completely lacking in foresight. Now the rest of us who have worked so hard to be responsible and accountable with our finances will pay the penalty for the rest of our lives. And our parents who have worked so hard and invested in the market in hopes to retire will now put it off for "a few more years". And we will pay for it by shoring up our spending, working harder and sacrificing even more to get through it. When will the government take similar responsibility and action? Novemer 4th can't come and go fast enough!

Bye Bye Summer...

As summer draws to a close I am very sad this year. Usually I LOVE fall and am happy when it arrives. But it seems like winter JUST ended and knowing that it is just a couple months away again - well let's just say I'M NOT READY! We had such a great summer with Ben - he learned to walk and run and ride a tricycle (sort of), and lick an ice cream cone, and eat corn on the cob and even fresh tomatoes from the garden. I guess he'll learn to pick a pumpkin soon!
